Robert Schumann's Dichteliebe Song Cycle

American soprano, Maria Ferrante, was the first local artist to be presented on the International Artists Series at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA. Winner of the prestigious Mario Lanza Voice Competition she has become familiar to audiences all over the world in recitals, oratorios, and in fifteen leading operatic roles. In his music review for the Boston Globe, Richard Dyer said, “The combination of delicacy and intensity she brought to many phrases brought tears to my eyes. In her honesty, imagination, and investment, she was infinitely superior to the last Butterfly I saw at the Met.”

Ms. Ferrante has recorded for the Naxos, Albany, and AFKA record labels and currently records for Hundreds Records. She maintains an extensive vocal studio, and presents master classes throughout New England. Ms. Ferrante will discuss Robert Schumann's masterful and beautiful Dichteliebe before performing this complete song cycle, accompanied by world-renowned pianist, Ivan Gusev.
