Edible Books Contest

December 28, 2018

Things to do during school vacation week, part 4:

Work on creating an entry for the Edible Books Contest!!!

The Edible Books Contest is coming to the library on January 12 - school vacation week is a perfect time to start planning your entry!

Edible Books Contest
Saturday, January 12 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
All Ages (3 Age Categories)

Get creative with food and literature! Create something with food to represent a book: you could create a broccoli forest for Where the Wild Things Are, or bake an Elephant and Piggie cake for the Elephant and Piggie books. Or perhaps you’re a fan of Moby Dick – you could decorate a whale-shaped cookie. The only two guidelines are that your entry be made of food and related somehow to books.

There will be three age categories: Kids, Teen, and Adult.

Entries will be displayed in the story room for the day of January 12; drop off your entry when the library opens at 10:00, and pick your entry up when the library closes at 4:00.

There will be in-person paper ballots for voting in the library, and there will be polls (with photos of the entries) for off-site voting via the Facebook page for the Children’s Room at the Harvard Public Library. Online voting will stay open for a week! Voting will decide the winner for each age category – winners get bragging rights and an awesome 1st place ribbon!
