Kill A Watt Kit
Electricity bills are rising. Now you can cut down on costs and find out what appliances are actually worth keeping plugged in. Simply connect these appliances to the Kill A Watt, and it will assess how efficient they really are. The large LCD display counts consumption by the kilowatt-hour, the same as your local utility. You can calculate your electrical expenses by the day, week, month, even an entire year. Also check the quality of your power by monitoring voltage, line frequency, and power factor. Kill A Watt can help you reduce your power bill and will help find power-wasting appliances so you are able to decide whether it is worth keeping them plugged in. Includes instruction booklet.
Metal Detector
This entry-level metal detector requires no set up and very little instruction. The large screen gives an approximation of the type of metal it is detecting as well as the depth. Weighing less than 3 pounds this lightweight metal detector can help whether you’re looking for something lost or just looking for fun!
Note: Replacement cost is $210 for all items combined (detector, bag, and headphones) but individual components have a lesser cost. If something is lost or damaged you will only be charged the cost of replacing that piece.
Ukelele
Each ukulele comes with a tuner, tuner instructions, and simple chord book to get you started! If you enjoy playing, consider looking into our Ukulele Strum-Along group!
Note: Replacement cost if lost or damaged is $100.00, replacing tuner batteries or broken strings are considered normal wear and tear that the library is responsible for and would not incur the replacement fee.
EnChroma Kids Planet Outdoor/Universal Colorblind Glasses
For people with color blindness certain colors overlap and look confusingly alike. These lenses filter down very specific, narrow bits of light that cause this confusion in red-green colorblindness. By dampening these "problem" light waves, the lenses help the eyes send clearer signals to the brain about reds and greens, signals that more closely resemble the ratio of a person with normal color vision. They are a universal lens which means they may not work for all red-green colorblindness but should help to filter the light for the majority of those with red-green colorblindness. These glasses are sized for Children.
Note: Replacement cost is $189.00 if lost or damaged.
